My specialties include connecting with strong willed teens, healing family conflicts and helping adults translate pain and difficulty into opportunities for transformation. I have a particular interest in the enhanced opportunity for change and growth that come from big developmental transitions such as adolescence, becoming an adult and parenting. My style is warm, active and solution oriented.
More than two decades of experience in this field has enabled me to refine my skill in helping people create meaningful change. Following nine years as the Clinical Director at Huckleberry Youth Programs, I'm now offering supplemental supervision and training as a Senior Clinical Consultant. I've taught parenting, baby & me, coping with depression and managing anxiety classes at Kaiser Permanente. I spent seven years as a staff therapist in Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente in South San Francisco. I've provided clinical consultation and supervision as a consultant to Huckleberry Youth Programs, Third Street Youth Clinic and Women's Recovery Association. Additional community based mental health experience includes work at Family Services Agency of San Francisco and Larkin Street Youth Services.
I wrote the curriculum, Parents' Turn, a skill building and support program for parents of adolescents and young adults, currently offered through Huckleberry Youth Programs and Kaiser Permanente - Santa Clara.
I'm a licensed clinical social worker (lcs 18927), in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. I earned an MSW from University of California, Berkeley and my BA from Colorado College. I am an affiliate clinician at San Francisco Institute for the Advancement of Psychotherapy and contribute to their clinic, Bay Area Center for Adolescents.
I look forward to talking with you.
